With Abigail’s guidance, you’ll explore seasonal florals through conversation, demonstration, guided design, and large-scale work — all with a custom color palette and floral recipe prepared just for you, featuring the finest locally grown blooms from her Southern California grower friends.
Day One: Foundations in the Garden Style
The first day is devoted to the heart of floral design — exploring foam-free centerpieces and whimsical hand-tied bouquets.
Begin with coffee and conversation, where Abigail shares her philosophy, design principles, and the importance of working with seasonal, locally grown flowers.
A lecture and Q+A will introduce color theory, composition, and techniques tailored to your custom floral recipe.
Abigail then moves into demonstration, showing you her process while weaving in thoughts on texture, depth, and storytelling.
The day unfolds into guided design time, where you bring your own pieces to life with Abigail’s encouragement and feedback. Time is left for reflection, questions, and capturing your finished work in photographs.
Day Two: Flourishing in Scale
The second day expands your artistry into large-scale, foam-free installation work — translating the Cottage Garden style into pieces that transform spaces.
Choose from a structured arch, ground meadows, hanging installation, or, for advanced students, a combination of elements.***
Work with the season’s most abundant locally sourced flowers, learning mechanics, scale, and creative problem-solving.
With Abigail’s step-by-step guidance, you’ll build, refine, and photograph your installation, gaining confidence in the artistry of event-scale florals.
This two-day immersion is both a technical and creative journey — an opportunity to linger with flowers, hone your craft, and carry home the knowledge and confidence to flourish in your own studio.

Full Day Mentorship

Step into a day devoted to seasonal flowers, artistry, and the cottage garden style. Your private mentorship with Abigail will weave together foam-free centerpieces and whimsical hand-tied wedding bouquets, each created from a custom color palette and floral recipe designed especially for your session — celebrating the finest locally grown blooms from her favorite flower growers’ farms across Southern California.
The day begins slowly, with coffee in hand and a thoughtfully prepared lecture and Q+A. Here, Abigail shares not only the foundational techniques she uses, but the why behind them — her design philosophy, principles and elements she consistently implements, and the privilege of working with local flowers. You’ll have space for conversation, curiosity, and insight before moving into the hands-on portion of the day.
From there, Abigail transitions into an interactive demonstration, bringing your custom flower pull to life while talking through her every decision — from selecting stems and processing them for longevity, to creating movement, depth, and texture within the design. Questions are welcomed! Abigail shares openly and honestly throughout, ensuring that the teaching is interactive, transparent, and practical.
The afternoon flows into your guided design time. With Abigail beside you at every step, you’ll begin crafting your own centerpiece and bouquet, encouraged to experiment while supported with clear, gentle feedback. Her role throughout is both mentor and collaborator — answering questions, offering refinements, and helping you shape the flowers into designs that still feel as though they belong to the garden.
As the day unfolds, moments are set aside for reflection and photographs, ensuring you leave not only with the knowledge and confidence to flourish, but also with a mini virtual portfolio to have for years to come.

Half Day Mentorship

A half-day in the studio offers a chance to immerse yourself in one design focus — whether bouquets or centerpieces — while experiencing the beauty of locally grown, seasonal flowers. For each student, Abigail prepares a custom color palette and floral recipe, thoughtfully designed to highlight the very best blooms of the season.
The session begins with conversation and lecture, diving into recipe creation, design principles, color theory, and the techniques you’ll soon bring to life. You’ll have space to ask questions and explore not just the how, but the why behind each design choice.
From there, Abigail moves into demonstration, showing you and verbalizing her process while sharing insights on movement, texture, and storytelling. Then it’s your turn: a guided building session, where you create your own piece with Abigail’s encouragement and feedback throughout the whole process. Together, you’ll bring to life a signature Cottage Garden–style design — full of personality, whimsy, and intention.

All sessions will be provided with snacks and drinks as well as at least 15-20 photographs of your designs (30-50 for Two Day sessions).
